Julie Bastian, Esq.

Of Counsel

Former In-House Counsel for International Company with Years of Practical Legal Experience

Julie focuses her practice on advising clients on employment and business strategy matters in highly-charged and hyper-competitive national and international markets. Prior to joining Beckage in 2018, she was in-house counsel for a large global workforce solutions and business services company. Julie also helps resolve whistleblower and internal employee complaints to avoid litigation or adverse publicity. She works with state, federal and Canadian regulators to defend investigations into wage and hour claims, compensation and insurance grievances, and EEOC claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Julie negotiates employment and separation agreements, and provides executive employment and compensation advice in transactions to companies, owners, management teams and senior level executives. She assists with employee disputes regarding use of data and keeping company data confidential and protected.

Julie works with businesses to develop and improve human resource policies and conduct training modules on compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, State Wage & Hours Laws, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Background Check Training.

Julie helps develop social media, bring your own device (“BYOD”), Terms of Use, Third Party Vendor, and other technology-driven policies.
